Oops!

Oops! My science teacher from grade school saw my blog about me not being crazy about science! OOPS!! She was an awesome teacher!! (Not trying to be a suck-up!!) I really do love her!! I love it, since I am a teachers kid, I know some of the teachers a bit better, and ya know, I have some really good, good friends in those teachers. My English teacher, my Computer Teacher, my History Teacher/b-ball coach, my old 5Th grade teacher, a teacher who teaches 2ND grade, and more! I have become such good friends with them!

My dad is still non-responsive. Hospice was here today. My uncle and aunt, and two baby cousins were here today. Oh, and my grandparents. I didn't see them, I was at school. So maybe tomorrow I will see them.

Well, I had best be going- I might have a snow day tomorrow and that is EXCITING! Sorta, I love school, but if God is going to let it snow- I don't really have that much to say, so might as well have a good attitude about it.

Last night I was talking to my friend, and I said to her, what do people expect me to do? turn from God? then where would I be? Where would I be if I turned from him?

Well, it's nearly dinner time, and I need to go help, and then study for ya- you guessed it- science. Lucky me huh?

  1. Allie, I just read your latest blog. I can identify with you comment about turning from God, then where would you be. 22 years ago my little daughter was dying from an incurable disease. God was our strength. No matter what happens in this life, we know that He is our everything. If we turn away from God, who is left to turn to? I choose God and I am so appreciative of the chance to see your family firmly planted on the Rock, our Saviour. Mrs. Grant

  3. Don't worry about Science; it wasn't a strong point with a lot of us! But even in my 40's I have to say some teachers to this day; I still consider great friends!
Most were very good but some stood out to be much more than that...and those memories last a life time. School is honestly some of the best times of your life, but again life is what you make it so I guess anytime can be great!!
Good Luck and thanks for posting and including us in your journey. We do care and pray every day for you and your family!

  5. I just want you to know we're praying for you and our family all the way in Colorado. My husband and I were church planters at BBS and spent time with your parents at church planting retreats. You are a very special young woman who obviously made her Dad proud. I praise God that you are fully trusting in Him. I pray that you will find even more comfort and peace during this time.
    With love from CO,

  7. Allie, my sister sent me your blog. She is Cindy Winter-Hartley (My Awesome Olive Shoots) and my nephew is at West Point.

She thought you and I had a lot in common. But, seeing your blog and thinking how incredible you are, I'm not so sure! Wow - you are one special young lady! I'm inspired by your heart for the Lord. I sure was not like that in high school.

My father had brain cancer and passed away when I was 14. It's been a long time now but I do recall those days and what having a very sick parent was like. I did not have the Lord in my life but I know He was with me. I even knew it then. God is good!!

Anyway, my email is ncnole@gmail.com if you ever want to drop me a line. I'm on Facebook too.

Praying for you! You are one amazing Sister in Christ!

  8. Dear Sunshine,
I don't know you, but I read your Dad's blog (linked from Olive Shoots). I just wanted to let you know that I am praying for you. Words are not enough to comfort and encourage you like I would like, so I pray that God will provide that for you in His most excellent way. I commented on Hokey Pokey that my heart is breaking for your family, and yet in the same heartbeat, it is overjoyed at the peace and wholeness eternal that your dad is enjoying as he is now face to face with Christ!

My younger brother died in 2006 from cancer - he was 34. From what I've read, the "end" was very much like what your dad went through, so in some ways, I have similar experiences as you. That to say, I know, sort of, what you're going through. Just know that I, and many, many other people you've never met (I'm sure!) are thinking of you and praying for you.

With the Love of our Lord Jesus,
